namaraag
Sydney Golden Wattle
Senior Dharawal Elder Uncle Rod Mason sharing knowledge of namaraag with granddaughter Kodie Mason.

Dharawal people would use the namaraag for medicinal and hunting purposes. By crushing the leaves together it releases an antiseptic soap that could be used for cleaning scratches and stings.
They would also use this in creeks and streams to disorientate the local fresh water animals like frogs, turtles, eels and yabbies which made them easier to catch.
