guragaa
Bracken Fern

The leaves of the guragaa are used to repel mosquitoes, while the root juice is rubbed onto stings and bites to stop itching.
Young shoots and root nodules can be roasted on the fire and eaten. Local Aboriginal people would use the guragaa to make shellfish baskets to assist in carrying locally caught shellfish, crabs, oysters and pipis camps inland.
